Get Ready for National Nurses Week

Did know that nursing is the nation’s largest health care profession? National Nurses Week takes place May 6-12, ending on Florence Nightingale’s birthday, with events held throughout the U.S. to honor the work of nurses and educate the public about their important, sought-after role in the health care field.

Why the tie to Florence Nightingale? She is considered the founder of modern nursing, famous for nursing wounded soldiers in the Crimean War. She played a major part in training other nurses and making hospitals cleaner and safer. The first widespread recognition of nurses took place in 1954, 100 years after Nightingale’s work in Crimea, and today’s weeklong celebration continues the tradition of recognizing those who help people become more physically healthy.

The 2018 theme is Nurses: Inspire, Innovate, Influence — and we want to make sure you have promotional items ready to celebrate the occasion appropriately:
